Molly Hunt, LCSW
Hi there. My name is Molly, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship patterns, trauma, and the complexities of major life transitions.
My style is collaborative, gradual, and warm. Initially, we’ll clarify what you want therapy to actually do for your life—whether that’s rebuilding self-trust, healing old wounds, improving boundaries, reducing overwhelm, or untangling patterns that keep repeating. From there, we’ll work toward changes that feel meaningful and doable.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Boston University, with a focus on trauma and violence. I have completed both CCTP-I and CCTP-II certifications and have studied at the Institute for Modern Psychoanalysis. I continue to build on this foundation through ongoing training in trauma and attachment.
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I draw from psychodynamic and relational perspectives to support insight, growth, and lasting change.
Sliding-Scale Therapy
I reserve one sliding-scale session each week for healthcare providers and one for educators. These spots aren’t pro bono, but they’re offered at a reduced rate to make therapy more accessible for professionals who give so much to others and may need extra support for themselves.
Send an email to molly@dogwoodtherapyllc.com if you are interested. Please note that sliding scale spots are dependent on availability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I’m in network with Quest and Highmark BCBS. For other insurance plans, I’m considered out-of-network and can provide superbills you can submit for potential reimbursement.
How does scheduling work?
I see clients on a weekly or biweekly basis, and typically hold a standing slot. However, I work with people, such as busy professionals, whose schedule does not permit such a cadence. In that case, I am eager to make my schedule work for you. Please email to discuss.
What if you don’t take my insurance?
Many insurance plans allow for out-of-network benefits. I am passionately committed to helping you pursue this process and am experienced in working with insurance companies in this context.
If you do not have out-of-network benefits, I do offer limited sliding scale spots.
How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are approximately 50 minutes. Extended sessions are available upon request.
What’s your cancellation policy?
The cancellation policy is 24 hours, with notice for Monday appointments required on Friday. Late cancellations or missed sessions are billed at the full session rate of $150.
However, knowing that some things in life are out of our control, I offer clients one free cancellation without fee per year.
